Saturn was formed in August 1996 as “Saturn Professional Risks Ltd’, a specialist ‘intermediary only’ Professional Indemnity Underwriting Agency. Originally operating out of an office in Lime Street, London, Saturn quickly outgrew these premises and in February 1998 relocated to prestigious offices in Chesham, Buckinghamshire
In August 2004, through the creation of a new holding company, Saturn and PI Direct formed the largest specialist professional indemnity underwriting agency in the UK, with combined Group gross written premium of circa £55 million and some 15000 Professional Indemnity policyholders.
On 1 August 2005, following a restructuring of the Group, we changed our trading style to “Saturn, a trading name of Martello Professional Risks Ltd”. More recently on 1 December 2006, Martello Professional Risks Ltd became a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance plc.

We are able to provide quotations for the majority of professions, with tailor-made wordings to meet their specific needs. Our policies for Chartered Accountants, Architects and Surveyors all meet the requirements of the respective governing bodies, including the ICA, ARB, RIBA and RICS.
Our PI policies provide some of the widest cover available, with the majority automatically including Legal Expenses Insurance as standard at no additional premium. We can also offer quotations for Directors & Officers Liability and Medical Malpractice, as well as Liability as an extension to many PI policies.
Saturn hold full delegated underwriting and claims handling authority.
